Registrations open - 13th Edition Cascais Surf for Employability Program
Registrations have opened for the 13th Edition of the Cascais Surf for Employability Program , a 5-week program whose ultimate objective is to provide participants with personal and professional tools that allow them to successfully develop their projects and get back into the job market. This program is developed by the Surf Social Wave Association in conjunction with the Municipality of Cascais, Nova SBE, Randstad, Way Beyond among other partners.
Participants surf twice a week, do Yoga, have individual and group coaching sessions. It also has sessions in different areas, such as economics, finance and accounting, marketing and communication, management and planning, project development, digital tools, entrepreneurship and active job search. They also have the presence of several speakers whose life story is truly inspiring.
The facilitators are Nova SBE professors and specialists in their respective areas, in order to convey an academic vision, but also a more practical and objective vision in the different areas. The program takes place at the Nova School of Business and Economics, in Cascais, and the surf lessons at Carcavelos beach.
The Cascais Surf for Employability Program has already received a total of 120 participants and has an 80% success rate (return to the job market) and of these, 80% found a job in the intended area and 20% started to build a project.
The Surf Social Wave Association holds 4 editions a year and receives between 10 and 12 participants per edition. The 13th Edition will be the second of 2022, and the first, the 12th, ended last Saturday with a diploma delivery in the City of Professions of professions.
Associação Surf Social Wave is a non-profit association, of public utility and social character, founded in 2017, which works with adults in a situation of social exclusion (unemployed, looking for a first job and NEET), using surfing with anchor to the professional, social and personal training of the participants.
This training goes towards employability, in what is today the economy of the sea linked to surfing and beyond.
The Cascais Surf Program for Employability has the fundamental support of the Cascais City Council, Nova SBE, Randstad, Way Beyond, Sushi at Home, Billabong Portugal, Stone Capital, The Student Hotel, Fiuza , VdA Vieira de Almeida, Power X by IC, CRQL – Lombos Praia, ASSW Surf Academy, Surfrider Foundation Lisboa, Portuguese Surfing Federation and and is co-financed by the European Social Fund through the Portugal Inovação Social, Portugal 2020 and Lisboa 2020.
